arcilook: Extremely Curved Havøysund Tourist Route by Reiulf Ramstad Architects Reiulf Ramstad Architects have completed a winding concrete ramp to facilitate walking from the roadside down to the seaside in Havøysund, Norway. The objective is quite simply to single out and magnify the experience of walking from the roadside down to the seaside at this very special place. Therefore a chief concern was to slow down this movement and make the path itself a means of refocusing the experiential mode: a measured, restrained approach that creates awareness.

theabsolution: Happy 160th Birthday Antoni Gaudi! “La Sagrada Familia” by Antoni Gaudí - 130 years in construction. When work began on the church, in 1882, the architects, the bricklayers and the labourers worked in a very traditional way. When Gaudí took over the direction he was aware that the works were complex and difficult and tried to take advantage of all the modern techniques available.Today, 130 years later, the building of the church follows Gaudí’s original idea and many architects have tried to follow his techniques to desig the 12 towers but only 8 are ready and it’s not close to be finished. (Virtual Visit) That’s why Barcelona is the city I’d live in if I had to get out of Brazil. Such a magic city!

arcilook: Farrels Designed the Tallest Building in Shenzhen: 442-metre Kingkey 100 Skyscraper Currently the Kingkey 100 Skyscraper is the tallest building in Shenzhen and tenth tallest in the world. It is situated on the edge of Shenzhen’s CBD and sets a new precedent for the successful 21st century transformation of commercial districts into vibrant and enriching environments. Completed at the end of 2011, the financial office tower was designed with a curving glass body and pointed tip. The curtain wall facade curls up at the base of the building to create a canopy over the entrance to the offices, while a shopping centre branches out from the other side. A hotel occupies the uppermost 25 floors of the 100-storey tower.

remagine: New Dehli-based Anagram Architects have designed this impressive facade as part of their office building for the ‘South Asian Human Right Documentation Centre’, or SAHRDC, a non-governmental rights organization in New Dehli, India. It’s based on a modular systems of 6 bricks - we like that the wall hasn’t been painted or plastered over, the rawness of the material gives the illusion of movement, balance and transformation… a bit like Transformers’ Jenga, but we won’t be trying to remove any bricks any time soon… via designboom
